Dear White Swan Community

On behalf of the Mt. Adams School District, including our dedicated teachers and staff, we wish to offer our sincere and unwavering support as we all begin the difficult process of recovery from the recent devastating fires. We are deeply saddened to know that many of our residents have lost their homes and cherished possessions; we understand the profound impact of such loss and stand with you in this challenging time.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Yakama Nation and the American Red Cross for stepping in so quickly to support families and the community as a whole. Their swift actions, generosity, and dedication have provided critical relief during these trying times, and we are profoundly thankful for their efforts to help us recover and rebuild.

We also want to assure our community that all Mt. Adams School District buildings remained undamaged during the fires. Our schools will continue to serve as a constant, reliable, and safe presence for our students and families. As such, school is scheduled to begin as planned, with students returning on August 25, 2026. We are committed to maintaining our regular schedule to provide the stability our children need.

For families who have been displaced or are facing relocation challenges, please know that we are here to help. Arrangements are being made to ensure transportation support is available for all displaced students so they can continue their education without interruption. Furthermore, MA’s Closet, our district resource center, is available and ready to support families with clothing, food, laundry facilities, and showers. 

The Mt. Adams School District is fully committed to being a vigilant partner in our community's recovery. We believe that maintaining continuity for our students is essential during difficult times. If you have specific needs that the district can support, we encourage you to reach out to our offices or speak directly with our administrators. We are listening and we want to be helpful as possible.

In the face of this adversity, our unity is our strength. We remain your steadfast partners in this recovery, and together, with the invaluable support of the Yakama Nation, the Red Cross, and other community partners, we will rebuild and support our students and families. We look forward to seeing our students back in our halls very soon.
